Cold, damp and foggy all day so we stayed in - apart from a visit to Morrisons.
At mid-day we take off for the UK. Everything goes with amazing efficiency and we arrive ten minutes early in Manchester
where our luggage is already waiting for us.
In the evening we go to the
Loch Fyne
restaurant in Knutsford. When we arrive it seems very busy and the girl explains that it is Burns night. She promises
that there will be no bag pipers arriving but inevitably after about half an hour we hear the sound of pigs being
strangled.
We set off for the North east but in Wetherby we stop for a cup of coffee at a nice little place in the middle called
Fennel which has really nice home-made cakes.

In due course we spot an interesting bridge in Middlesbrough we spot and the trip turns into a tour of Tyneside bridges.
Including a trip across the
Transporter Bridge
for £1.20.
Inevitably we eventually end up in Bettys in Harrogate.
In the evening we go to Chill Factor to buy some serious winter clothes for our forthcoming trip to Austria
And not a lot happens today either but in the evening we set off for Norwich
In the evening we drive to London
Today we go to
Raindance
to learn how to make films! Obviously, you cannot learn much in a couple of days but it is very useful to be able to ask
questions and the guy giving the course clearly knows his stuff. At least we will know the difference between a
Key Grip
and a
Gaffer.
It is clear that making a film is a serious committment of time and effort and is a good way of getting rid of money you
don't really need.
