I have always had total contempt for Bill Clinton but as I sit in the Rock Hotel outdoor restaurant reading
The Clinton Tapes
by Taylor Branch (a man, not a railway) I begin to think that maybe I am wrong.
It appears that in many instances, he adopted politically unpopular positions (and not just with Monica) because
he felt that they were right eg on Bosnia, Haiti and the Budget. I have to admit, the idea that Clinton had any
principles is not one that had ever occurred to me.
Still not keen on the wife though.
Not a lot happened today
As I leave Cheers I see a very pretty girl struggling with heavy boxes on a hand cart. Maybe "white van woman" will be one of the trends of the future?
Well, they hysteria over BP seems to be abating. If the share price keeps going up like this, maybe I will get my money back? Nah, probably not.
The sun goes down on another baking hot day in Gibraltar. Before we know it, Christmas will be here.
Living in Gibraltar it is very easy to ignore the ships after a while. An endless succession of them - I can always see at least thirty and usually forty. But this one looks a bit different - maybe it's the colour scheme?
The buzz if irritating scooters is suddenly drowned by the heavy thump, thump of big bikes. Hundreds of them come past and finally congregate in the car park next to the cable car.
