The End - Sorry! |
I am not too keen on fairs but my girlfriend loves them so she has gone off to the fair in Algeciras. She gets home quite late
but nothing in Spain happens until late at night so that is fair enough (no pun intended)
In the afternoon we drive up to Ronda in the scorching heat and get somewhat carried away on the hill climb. Then the air
conditioning packs in and while I am trying to fathom that out, a giant picture of a thermometer lights up on the dashboard. Oh
dear! The car has got a bit hot under the collar but after a rest it feels much better and off we go.
The view from the top of the huge rock on which Ronda sits is amazing.
In the evening we set off with some nice people to the Wok which is just up the road from Gibraltar (big, very yellow - you can't miss it). The staff seem delighted to see us arrive and when we finally leave they look positively ecstatic. Those that have not gone to bed anyway. Maybe the Chinese Spanish don't like staying up late?
It is only 300 years sinec the Salem witch trials in America - how time flies.
Roman has boats inside his boats and so on and so forth.
This is the $300m superyacht "A" which is 394 feet long but is NOT a submarine. I think it should have been. There
is a lot of bitchy comment on the web along the lines of it being vulgar. Well, a bit maybe but I like it. I have
to say, Roman, that it made your boat look just a little bit boring as it sailed past. Maybe you need a 600 foot
long nuclear submarine?
Tonight at mid-night they light giant fires on the beach in La Linea - why, I have no idea.
I have never seen or felt anything like it. The pile of pallets is about 30 feet high and burns
ferociously. Phew!
Later we fly to the UK
We didn't set out to see Bad Teacher but there was nothing on that we had heard of and Cameron Diaz is in it so it can't be that bad can it? Well, yes, it can. And since you ask, she is looking a bit past her sell by date ...
